742 - Dynamical model determination of a jointed beam under follower force
Sohrabian M., Ahmadian H.
Abstract
This paper investigates the dynamical behavior of an assembled beam structure with tip masses. The beam like structure is composed of two beams connected with a threaded joint. The joint heavily affects the dynamical behavior and stability regions of the structure under follower force. Dynamical instabilities have been classified into two maim groups of divergence and flutter. In the way of inspecting the instability regions of the structure under follower force, and establishing an analytical solution, the Galerkin method is employed. The stability regions are determined and their sensitivity to the joint parameters are investigated.
