Organiser: Randolph C.K. LEUNG
Organisation/Institution: The Hong Kong Polytechnic Universíty, Hong Kong
The structured session invites contributions covering recent developments of numerical simulation techniques for aeroacoustics applications. Emphasis is placed on
- the capability of numerical algorithms to accurately simulate generation and propagation of acoustic disturbances in unsteady flows,
- the development of proper boundary conditions,
- the computational efficiency, and
- the validation of numerical simulation with theories and/or experiments.
Applications involving sound generation by turbulent flows and its propagation, flow-sound interactions and resonance, interactions between sound and stationary/moving structures in flows, aeroacoustics of jets, wakes and boundary layers, etc, are expected in the session.
