950 - Ultrasonic signal as tool for sizing discontinuities in solid body
Gabriel T.
Abstract
One of the most used applications of ultrasonic signal is detecting and sizing zones presenting different acoustic properties inside solid body. Different methods to accomplish this scope were developed in the last 50 years. During 10 years, the author studied theoretically and experimentally the problem of uncertainties appearing in each of sizing methods using ultrasound in use today. In the proposed paper, the author finishes this task by publishing - as exhaustive as possible - the results of his research activity about this subject.
