072 - Accuracy improvement in rotor balancing by using influence coefficient method based on Tikhonov regularization
Lin T.
Abstract
Influence coefficient (IC) method is most common for balancing rotating machinery. If corrections are determined by least square algorithm (LSA), balancing accuracy is affected by locations and numbers of measurements and balancing planes significantly. Since the solution of a set of linear equations is dominated by illness of IC matrix of the rotor which will be balanced. On the basis of Tikhonov regularization, accurate and less corrections can be yielded from an ill IC matrix. The accuracy improvement due to iterative Tikhonov regularization (ITR) compared to LSA is proved by this study. Also, numerical examples are used to simulate balancing of a rotor by using both algorithms.
