553 - Influence of events upon noise and air pollution

Abstract
In Palermo a municipal network of monitoring is useful to evaluate the influence of particular events upon noise and air pollution. Data concerning significant events happened in Palermo from 2000 until 2003 and, at the same time, air and noise data collected by means the municipal network were analyzed and compared to the average typical values for the correspondent periods. The environmental data (hourly or daily) were acquired and elaborated with a software designed by the authors. 1435 municipal ordinance and 3921 important events were analyzed. A particular study concerning the ecological Sundays was performed.
