539 - Comparison between experimental transmission loss measurement and theoretical models based on experimentally determined acoustic materials parameters
Vanzo P., Amadasi G.
Abstract
A comparison it has been performed between results obtained for experimental Transmission loss measurements of a sandwich noise control element and results given by existing theoretical models for TL estimation, based on acoustic materials characteristic parameters. Measurements have been conducted according to ISO relevant standard procedures with the best possible accuracy and error estimation. Materials parameters considered are: absorption, impedance, Flow-resistivity, etc. A specific attention it has than devoted in understanding the influence of errors in measuring poro-acoustic parameters of the acosutic materials on the TL estimation. Sandwich elements investigated are typical for application on vehicle and building noise reduction.
