441 - Study and proposal of the prediction equation for traffic noise during workable days in Buenos Aires downtown

Abstract
This paper analyzes the different equations of noise prediction in urban surroundings proposing a new one for Buenos Aires Downtown. The calculation of this equation is based on the data of the traffic provided by the Government of the City and several continuous measures during 12 days in 10 different points in the urban surroundings. Due to the great repeatability observed during the workable days (Monday to Friday), it is possible to calculate a noise prediction equation for the urban surroundings, presenting an error smaller than others obtained by generic equations internationally adopted. The prediction equation only works for the workable days since a great variation of the noise levels exists during the weekends (Saturday and Sunday) due to the habit differences of each zone. This study proposes a specific equation for particular surroundings, comparing its error with others obtained by generic equations commonly adopted.
