044 - Monitoring 20 silent roads over 10 years in the municipality of Groningen

Abstract
The municipality of Groningen in the northern part of the Netherlands has a wide experience with the application of silent roads. This experience covers a period of about 20 tracks with 2layered porous asphalt and various types of thin layers. These tracks have been and are monitored regularly. The obtained data from 10 years monitoring offer a vast amount of valuable information on noise reduction, durability, maintenance, costs, contracts and policy
