437 - Simulation and robust control of piezo electric beam

Abstract
In this paper, robust vibration control of a cantilevered beam is presented. ANSYS Parametric Design Language (APDL) used for modelling the piezo beam. At first modal Analysis of the piezo beam was simulated using APDL codes, then obtained simulated results compared by experimental. The comparison shows the accuracy of developed model. In next step by using MATLAB software package and utilizing simulated data, which has been derived from harmonic analysis, system identification was done and the transfer function of the model was developed. By using transfer function, and controllers were designed. Generalized Kharitanov method according to the parametric uncertainty arises from structural damping variations also checked the controllers. Finally the performance of the controllers was verified by writing controllers code in ANSYS and performing transient analysis. The results show the robust stability and robust performance of the designed controllers.
