384 - Vibration data analysis for prognosis of the planetary gear plate crack
Wu B., Vachtsevanos G.
Abstract
Extracting useful information in the form of features or Condition Indicators (CIs) from raw vibration data is the foundation for accurate and reliable machinery fault diagnosis and prognosis. We have developed and demonstrated a new class of features that indicate the progression of crack growth in a planetary gear plate. Feature evaluation and selection is also addressed. The metrics include the similarity (or linear correlation) between the evolution of the features and the true crack size
