Abstract
In this study, the simple tube model is used as the study on the basic characteristics of thermo acoustic oscillation. The purpose of this study is the evaluation of the factors affecting the stability of the model. The experimental model used in this study is a straight steel pipe of open-open condition, 45 [mm] in diameter, and including the heat source inside. It is known that there are stability boundaries for the test model experimented with the parameters of power input and flow velocity. In this experimental model, the damping ratio was measured to evaluate the stability in various power inputs and flow velocities. In addition, the damping ratio in no power input was also measured. By measuring the reduction of the damping ratio from the one in no power input, the accurate amount of destabilization was obtained. In every case of 0.5[m], 1.0[m], and 2.0[m] pipe length, the reductions of damping ratio were almost the same amount according to the heat input.
