The Hyatt Regency Hotel, which is the Conference Headquarters Hotel, is located in the heart of downtown Phoenix. It is across the street from Phoenix Civic Plaza Convention Center, Symphony Hall, Herberger Theater, and within walking distance to Arizona Center, Phoenix Historic Museum, Heritage Square, Arizona Science Center, America West Arena and Bank One Ballpark, home of the Arizona Diamondbacks baseball.

This downtown landmark faces Civic Plaza like a giant kachina figure, its disk-shape rotating restaurant atop 24 floors of dark sandstone. Desert- and Indian-style decor dominate, blended with Hyatt's trademark atrium design and sky-view elevators. Shops, meeting rooms, and an on-site branch of the visitors bureau attest to the focus on conventions, which crowd the hotel in spring. Rooms are comfortable, utilitarian, and modestly sized; there are balcony rooms on floors 3-7, poolside rooms on 3 (the atrium roof blocks east views on 8-10). The Theater Terrace Café's southwestern food and themed seasonal menus are a cut above standard hotel fare.
