Odyssey 2010 welcome reception

Time: Monday, 19:00 – 20:00

Place and format: The welcome reception will take place in open air next to the ‘E’ building, and will immediately follow the last scientific session on Monday. In case of bad weather, it will take place in the foyer of ‘E’ building. Beer, wine, soft-drinks and light refreshment will be served.

Cost: the welcome reception is included in Odyssey 2010 registration. Accompanying persons can attend the welcome reception for 450 CZK, tickets are sold at the registration desk.

Odyssey 2010 social event – Wine tasting in South Moravia

Time: Wednesday 15:45 - 24:00

Place and format: The social event will take place in Šatov – a typical South Moravian village reputed for its excellent white wines. The visit will begin in “Malovaný sklípek“ (painted cellar) – a wine cellar decorated by a naïve local artist. The first wine degustation is prepared here. We will then move by foot along the vineyards (6-10 minute walk) to the main event location: “Stodola” (the barn), where the second wine degustation is prepared. Cold and warm buffets will be at your disposal here, along with wine and soft drinks. Jazz music will be played by Minimax band, in case you are an active musician, do not forget your instrument in case you want to join the group for an improvised jam-session!

Timing:

15.30 End of “SESSION 8: Human performances in Speaker recognition, Speaker clustering and partitioning”

15.45 departure from FIT BUT:

• bus A goes straight to Šatov
• bus B does a short stop in Hotel Continental, so that people can leave their laptops there.

17:00 (approximately) – arrival to “Malovaný sklípek”

• group 1 tastes wine and group 2 does guided visit of the cellar (the place is too small to accommodate all Odyssey participants)
• then the two groups swap.
• walk by foot along the wine-yards to “STODOLA”. Transfer is provided by bus for handicapped, or for all in case of bad weather.

18:30 (approximately) – beginning at “STODOLA”

• wine tasting group 1 ~19.30
• wine tasting group 2 ~20.30

23.30 departure to Brno

Cost: the social event is included in Odyssey 2010 registration. Accompanying persons can attend the social event for 1400 CZK, tickets are sold at the registration desk.
