TrabHCI, Technologies to Reduce the Access Barrier in Human Computer Interaction. Granted by the Finnish National Agency

TrabHCI, Technologies to Reduce the Access Barrier in Human Computer Interaction is an Erasmus Intensive Programme (IP) granted by the Finnish National Agency under the contract number 2012-1-FI1-ERA10-09684 . The IP consortium is composed by
  1. Lahti University of Applied Sciences (Finland, coodinator),
  2. University of Zaragoza ( Spain),
  3. University of Applied Sciences Dresden (Germany),
  4. Universitat Politecnica de Valencia (Spain).
  5. University Roma TRE (Italy)
 
The IP will focus on the emerging technologies to improve the accessibility and usability of the computers by non expert users. The IP will put especial emphasis on the new technologies that will help to users with disabilities, which are typically not considered during the design and evaluation of human computer interfaces. Students will be immersed on the study of new technologies associated with user interfaces. They will be involved in international teams to work over a real scenario during the IP. The IP lasts 2 weeks (10 working days) in which students and academics are working together on the following four topics:
    1. Natural user interfaces: Speech, handwriten, Gesture interfaces
    2. Natural language understanding
    3. Kinect interaction and programming

How to get the student hotel?

If you arrive to Rome Fiumicino airport,

There is a direct non-stop train service from Fuimicino Airport Station to Roma Termini station.The Leonardo Express.Trains run every half hour from 06:36 until the last departure at 23:36. Journey time is around 31 minutes.
Fare: €11.
The Metropolitan train FM1 does not stop at Termini. Get off at Tiburtina Station or at Ostiense Station to connect to the Rome Metro. Journey time is around 45 minutes.
Fare: €5.50.
Once at the Metro, take Line B, direction LAURENTINA, to Basilica San Paulo Subway Station

If you arrive to Rome Ciampino airport,

Take a bus to Termini Station and then, take Metro Line B, direction LAURENTINA, to Basilica San Paulo Subway Station.

How to get the Engineering Department?

Students

The University is less than 10 minutes walking from your B&B.
On Monday morning the students will have to BE around 8:50am in Via Vito Volterra 62. Ivan Bernabucci, local organiser, will take all the students to the classroom.
