Noise and Vibration in Space Vehicles

This session solicits papers on recent developments or applications for noise and vibration control in aerospace vehicles. It continues a tradition of including this structured session in ICSV conferences. Researchers are invited to contribute quality papers addressing computational and/or experimental noise or vibration control in launch vehicles, spacecrafts, and aircraft. The control of interior noise levels is vital for both human occupants and for survivability of sensitive equipment. Control of vibration and shock transmission in space vehicle has received significant attention and remains open to innovative improvements.  Suggested topics with application to aerospace vehicles include, but are not limited to the following:

• noise source identification
• Improved prediction of noise transmission
• Passive and active interior noise control
• Data processing of transient sound and vibration
• System identification applied for noise or vibration control
• Passive and active vibration or shock control 
• Improved techniques for equipment vibration testing
