Seiichi Yamamoto - ATR (Japan)

Curriculum: Seiichi Yamamoto was graduated from Osaka University in 1972 and received his Masters and Ph.D. degrees from Osaka University in 1974 and 1983, respectively. He joined Kokusai Denshin Denwa Co. Ltd. in April 1974, and ATR Interpreting Telecommunications Research Laboratories in May 1997. He was appointed president of ATR-ITL in 1997 and president of ATR Spoken Language Translation Research Laboratories in 2000. His research interests include digital signal processing, speech recognition, speech synthesis and natural language processing. He received Technology Development Awards from the Acoustical Society of Japan in 1995 and 1997. Board member of the Acoustical Society of Japan and the Institute of Systems, Control and Information Engineers, IEEE Signal Processing Senior member, invited professor of Kobe University, lecturer of Nagoya University and Tokushima University.
